I just checked the weather and we are going to have showers from now till Saturday.
My cucumbers didn't produce this year, I think they didn't get enough sun so sent for more seed and planted some in the tomato tire sod. The grass hoppers ate them all in a few days but I noticed yesterday one plant had escaped and had a cucumber and blooms maybe I will have a cucumber yet.
It is so cool here that my flowers are not blooming. average temperature at night is about 63 degrees and the high during the day is about 83 degrees.
I saw yesterday that the people who study such things think that 4 states were going to determine who was president this fall. Colorado was one and I forgot the other 3 but they were all in the north east.
When this season started I thought anyone could beat a Republican candidate but now I am beginning to wonder. If Obama doesn't stop shooting himself in the foot he is going to be in trouble.
They ask him about the abortion issue and he said that was above his pay grade! Then he goes on in another interview and is after McCain's group for painting him as a Muslin and he says " I am tired of them talking about my muslin faith." The reporter corrected him and said you mean your christian faith.
I saw this guy yesterday on O'Relly newscast from Texas named Kinky Freedman and he said " in 2004 Gore thought he didn't need Clinton to win and then he lost!" then Obama went to Germany and drew a crowd of 80 thousand people and his campaign people whispered in his ear "See you don't need HER to win!" If Obama loses the election it will be because he made poor judgement calls not because McCain won.
Obama better wake up!

I know. George Lakoff says voters don't vote issues. They vote values. here's Obama with a long term marriage and McCain, who dumped his disabled wife for a rich young beauty.
Who then has the family values?
Also, there's the race issue which has been skirted altogether. Many people in the south (and other places in America) are still racists. They just won't own up to it because it's politically incorrect. They shiily shalley around the issue but when it come to actually voting, they vote their prejudice.
Then there's the cell phone factor. That distorts the count altogether. Millions of folks have givin up land lines. Their opinions are not being counted.
So, it's anybody's election.
Every time I turn the t.v. on there is a new poll and they are all different. I don't trust those polls. I do think there is a racist issue when it comes to Obama and if he loses the election some of it will be for that reason. Hopefully, all the black people will turn out and vote for him.
I hope so, Judy. This is their opportunity. When I worked in the FAST office, I would ask low income people who complained about the cutting of the benefits for low income families, "do you vote"? Invariably they would say "no". I would then say, "Then you can't complain. Voting is your opportunity to make a statement.".
