Interesting. This made me think about the Beverly Hillbillies in a whole new light. I never thought about it when the show was on (me being so young), but I suppose a case could be made that to represent people as backward and stupid because of their state of origin is pretty much the same as categorizing them in certain ways because of their race, gender, or many other factors.
