Being in Kansas City...I remember all that so well. Being in Kansas City where there wasn't so much racial tension (blacks and whites went to the same schools even then), I was shocked to see people spitting on those kids and saying terrible things to them. The guy next in the alphabet did not want to sit by Green as his family was afraid they would try to shoot Green that day and might hit their son so Lynn sat by him.
