Helen Gurley Brown, the iconic editor in chief of fashion magazine Cosmopolitan whose frank, modern attitudes about women and sex brought her fans and simultaneously made her a lightning rod, died Monday after a brief hospitalization in New York, according to a press release issued by Hearst Corporation. She was 90.

I read a piece she wrote about life in the 70's. It was to do with birth control, a holiday and pepper sauce.
She and a lover were on  a week-end holiday in a back water place and Helen left her trusty diaphram  at home. her grandmother had told Helen about using vinegar as a birth control.
Helen rushes to the small country  store to buy vinegar  and fines the only vinegar on the shelf was a dusty bottle of pickled hot peppers.
She rushes back to the cabin and before intercourse  with her lover she douches with the pepper sauce before going to the love bed.
She gave a delirious  description of the effects of the hot pepper sauce and her lover's reaction to it..Helen Gurley was a woman  who spoke the truth.
