Willis Powell 1915-1988
My father was the light of my life,no other person had more influence on my life than he did ,he died in the year 1988 of cancer and the knowledge that I will never see his dear face or hear his voice again has been a fact that never leaves my mind. He has one grandson who carries his name. I am very glad that there is still a Willis Powell and today I saw for the first time pictures of his two beautiful little children. My second brother carries daddy's name but we have always called him by his first name Clayton. I have a younger brother who carries my father first name, Gilbert and my second son's middle name is Gilbert, but the name Willis is precious to me and has the sound of music to me. I hope that as long as time rolls there will be someone carrying the name Willis Powell

Amen! I loved Grandpa so much also. I think of him often and can still remember his voice to this day. I am proud to be a grandchild of Willis Powell. We are all blessed to of known such a man.
I have a new pic of baby on my blog I am back home now
If you wonder why I delete my posts sometimes, it is because I see a mistake...and I can't stand it so I delete it.
Daddy was a wonderful to his daughters. It is important for girls to have fathers who love them completely and unconditionally. It teaches one about love from the opposite sex. Daddy did a great job. His girls are strong because of the way he raised us. His love made us strong and made us feel that we do not need a man to take care of us.
I do not think Daddy was as good a father to his sons. He was more critical of them. He loved them completely. They had to learn "how to love" from their mother. If there was a failure, part of it lays at Mother's feet.
Mother taught her girls discipline and Father taught us love. Father taught his boys discipline...if there was a failure...I think it was in Mother not being strong with father.
What do you think...Old Sister, philospher!?
Oh, if I make a mistake...this will be deleted. I think I should just stop the blogging. Mine is boring. Smart Sister said so.
no mistakes.
Willis 'Cotton' Powell, Loved by his Kids, Grandkids, and all of his brothers and Sisters. He did not care what anyone else thought of him but wanted everyone to think well of his Kids.
