When nygon and her children arrived in this country , nygon was home sick and her husband told her he would buy a trailer to pull behind the truck and they would drive across our country until they found a place she liked and he would buy her a home where ever she choose.
She said one morning Dean said gather all the dirty cloths and we will go wash the cloths. First thing she saw was stores and a large parking lot. She always washed her cloths in the river in Vietnam, So she was looking around and she said where is the river? Dean took her to a help your self laundry and showed her how to wash cloths in the machines.
when they got to Colorado she said one morning she opened the door of the trailer and snow was falling, she had never seen snow. She said she woke Dean and said come look , Ice is falling from the sky.
When they pulled into Berryville Ar. Nygon said she wanted to stay here. She told me what she really wanted was a place with a mail box so she could get letters from home. So that is why I know a Vietnam Woman.
Nygon had a home but she wanted to learn to drive a car and have a job. Dean bought a car and parked in a field behind the house and Nygon would go out and practice every day.She said there was one tree in that field and she hit the tree a lot of times before she learned to drive. Next she wanted a job, Dean got her a job at Tyson and she worked until she could draw social security. Nygon still works, she sell t shirt that she paints, she loaned money out on interest. I don't know how many ways she has of making money.
Nygon never went to school and could not read or write, altho I did teach her to sign her own pay checks. One day they offered a school program to teach the Mexican to read and write
English. They said if you would raise you grade level 3 grades in this school they would give that person 100 dollars. Nygon wanted to read so she could read the want adds. Another way to make money, buy cheap and sell high!
That meant Ngon had to learn to read at the 3thd grade level.
I went with her to the office and we signed Nygon up for school.3 months later Nygon had her 100 dollars and could read at the 3hrd grade level. She is still reading the want adds and making money.
Nygon tells people I am her sister, here I am big, blonde, and blue eyed and here is this black hair, brown skin and slanted eyes woman who says we are sisters. People look at me and say , are you her sister? I all ways say yes. Let them figure it out!

You are a sister to all that
have need. I am proud to
have you as my sister.
What a great story - you have certainly collected a lot of friends on your life's journey and continue to do so
Good Morning Patsy. Hope you got some good books from the library.
