Mother and daddy married 69 years ago today. I was going to post their wedding picture but some one did it first so here is a picture on their 50th wedding day. we wanted a picture of mama and daddy and us children but my brother Gilbert's daughter ,Julie wanted in the picture and daddy would not let us move her. It was a happy day for my parent. we made them think we were not coming. Fleta said she went up early that morning and they were setting in the front room waiting for their big surprise. Helen was home and hid at Fletas. We met at the neighbors and drove to their house all together.
Daddy was getting real worried he thought no one was coming. he said when we all got there. I had began to think the big surprise was no one was coming!
ever child, grandchild , in laws and great grandchildren they had was there.
There was a big crowd. A happy day was had by all.

I got in trouble that day. I waS
late, when we got to Jasper, they
had the town closed for a parade.
Horses, old cars, floats, and only
one road through Jasper. I took an
hour or more to get through there.
Richard was really mad at me. He said I was just fixing my hair.
i remember waiting for you some thought you wasn't coming but me and clayton said she will be here.
Looking at that picture reminded me of something……..Does everyone remember who got the big beautiful bouquet of peonies setting on the floor…..and where she picked them? We really don’t need to post it for the entire world to see…I’ll give you a hint…She still lives on the place and she picked them CLOSE to the stone place…I had to laugh when I saw them. Clayton really made fun of her! We did have a good day. I am sure we all knew Betty would make it. I don't remember her being late. Aunt Thelma had a good time that day, and Bob Knight was there, Clayton invited him!HA
yes i remember the flowers and Jr. Aday told where she got them, Clayton said that is possible.you helen were not out at Nortons waiting you were hid out down at Fletas.I will never forget daddy find out you had been there for a day you could tell he was thinking of all the lost time he could have had with you. Clayton said they hauled down in the back of george's truck and had to cover you with a tarp.
No I was at Nortons also. They hauled me in and out several times! When I was thinking of Aunt Thelma today having a good time that is where I remember her talking and laughing, at Nortons while we were waiting for everyone. Then Dan came out wondering what was wrong and why everyone was in his yard!He enjoyed us also. Richard and Thelma were really cutting up I don't remember over what.
you will also notice my daddy's knees in the picture.
