Mom and Dad's life long neighbor died and his funeral was today. I went to town at 9 o'clock to go to library and passed by the funeral home. I thought there probaby wont be many people there so I will stop on my back back and go to the funeral.
Virgil only had one sister and neither one had every married so I figured that not many would remember the old timer.
When I pulled into parking lot on my way out of town I was surprised that there were many car in the lot.I pulled back on the road and parked on the street .I was thinking that I would go in and sign the registor and since there was such a crowd Lois wouldn't know I didn't stay.
I had to stand in line to sign the register. I ask a lady standing near me " this is Virgle morris's funeral?" She said no. they are having grave side service for him at carrollton.
So I went to virgil's funeral but he wasn't there.

Patsy, your web blog friends are going to read this and think you just made it up. Rest assured, your sisters are not even surprised you did this.
I am not surprised...and I could have done the same thing. You should have gone on to Carrollton?
Patsy...where is William Solan Gaddy buried?
So did you sign the guest book for the other person having a funeral? You are funny.
In our dirt road world, one can stop off at any funeral and be confident that you would have some connection to the deceased.
William Solan Gaddy is buried in the cemetery next to his wife.
I went to Nelson's website to see what funeral Patsy went to. I poted it here

I knew we would know them anyway.
This a wonderful story, one so many of us who have lived in smaller towns can relate to.
Since it turned out that you had known this person quite well, maybe it was good fortune that drew you there to pay your respects.
