AHHH-HAAH there is the infamous picture!!!!! I remembered the highboy and I knew the vanity had a mirror but I did not remember the rug until I seen this picture....nor did I remember the picture of Betty Lou....Thank you Pat for finally coughing it up! Do you have more...how about it Fleta do you have more pictures of Grannies house inside....Maybe Winnie Jo has some...I would love to see more...You know I asked Betty to write about the rooms because I woke up the other morning at 3AM thinking about the inside of her house and not being able to remember EVERYTHING about it. I thought there were only scatter rugs in the bedroom.....I know it is stupid but it is like forgetting someone’s name, I will think about it till all of the pieces are in my head...I would think you all would help me out...remember I am the simpleton that irons and cleans all of the time...do you know how much thinking you can do while performing these menial tasks!
Thank you, Patsy, I so wanted to see this picture...I knew I had seen it and wonder who had it. I knew I did not for I have organized my pictures into slots this week. Slot one is my family. Slot two is all my other family...you guys etc. slot three is pictures without people in them. So I knew I did nto have it.
I don't remember that chest. It makes me sad that my mind just forgets some things. The rug does not look like a linoleum one. Was it? Now it seems like it had a deep, purplish red color.
Thanks for helping us see Grandma' bedroom one more time.
Thanks Pat for posting this picture. We all knew someone had to have it.
I guess Cousin Winnie would be the authority, but I think this is Winnie Jo and her Aunt Winnie, not her mother.
The rug was a dark backgroud (almost black as I remember) with rose (pinkish) colored flowers.
I did not remember the rug either till I saw the photo. But it does not bother me. I have never had a good memory about any kind of detail even when I had much less than my almost 6 decades to remember.
I looked for more photos of Grandmas house. I only have the one that Betty has posted of us and grandma out front and a few of people standing in the yard. Nothing inside. But I can remember a lot about it.
It is not important to remember her house. We remember HER. I know I always felt that Grandma Powell loved us all.
And, Helen, I bet the reason you cannot remember the inside of Grandma's house like me and Betty is that you got to drive a car to the school functions. We had to stay at Grandma's and walk. I have good memories of Grandma and her house.
Well Pat and all of this time I thouight Fleta was the one that stole all of the pictures....now that I find out you had this one all along it makes me wonder how many other ones you have you need to fess up!!!
I want to make sure that I say that Grandma never acted like she did not want me to stay all night with her. I am sure she knew I was only strying to get to go to something. But I was always welcome at her house.
