Yes, and this photo got Fleta and I looking for Grandmother's ancestors again. Grandma said her mother was Martha Bartles. But I found long ago that it was Barskdale. Grandma just got the name confused.

Martha's parents were

Rebecca's parents were

Sarah's parents were...well,
I can't remember but her mother's maiden name was Dennis and I have
her father's name.
All we had when we started looking at this a few weeks ago was Martha Barksdale. Nathan Barksdale is how we are connected to the Rogers family and George Rogers Clark and William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Now, we are uncertain about John Rogers, the martyr...that may be a myth...but it is a good one.
