The Powell photo has a picture of our great aunt Matilda Powell collier Barnes. In our family she was known as Tee.
Aunt tee married Paul collier and her children were born in that marriage. Paul collier was a alcoholic and aunt tee divorced him after that she married a man named Barnes.
Aunt tee lived to her 90's and when she was well into her 80's she visited in my fathers home. Aunt Tee was a joy, so full of life .
While visiting with us she told us about a trip she made to the Holy Land. She visited the tomb where Jesus was supposed to been buried. She said when she entered she felt his presents so strong she also fainted Then she said she traveled to Egypt to see the sights. When she got to Egypt to see the pyramids they had two modes of travel. You could go down by truck or camel.
The rest of Aunt Tee's group choose the truck but Aunt wanted to ride a camel. They refused to take her on a camel so she refused to go.
Then another group appeared and they were willing to ride a camel and some of the group convinced the camel owners to allow Aunt tee to ride.
She told them she had rode a MO. Mule so she was sure a camel would be easy.
The camel driver got aunt tee aboard and away she went. She thumbed her nose at her friend in their truck.
Aunt tee is the only member of the group that could say she rode a camel.

good for aunt Tee, glad she got to do what she wanted on her trip.
Aunt Tee sounds great. Good story!
I don't want to act like a know it all, ..........teehee........
But you know I love to catch you in
an error. Myrtle died young and she married Tobe Still. She died in 1947 and was only 57 years old. (My age and I may died after making this correction). Tea was Matilda named about Matilda Powell, Richard's sister. That Matilda was named after Henry Powell's first wife who died in Mo. We think in childbirth. She was very young. Her maiden name was Hilton.
So this will really get your red hair sticking up. Your Myrtle is not your Matilda. I bet you knew it all along...

Who ever she was and whatever her name it still is a great story
Good Grief SS#3 you sure told your sister off today!! LOL! It really was a good story!
Tina, I am not telling Sister off. I am correcting her mistake...all the stuff about Aunt Tea is true...but she is Matilda...Mytle was her sister and Mytle was dead when Tea made her trip.
