My high dollar blood test that I didn't want but was forced into taking is back, the doctor's office called this morning and said, your blood test is back and the Doctor recommends.... A low fat diet and exercise. Your glucose was a little high, big surprise since I have old age onset diabetes. Your cholesterol was a little high, actually that was a surprise. I have always avoided that test. I thought it would be through the roof.
She ask do you want a hemoglobin test? I said No. She said I will tell the doctor, I said ok. She said goodbye.
I could have purchased a readers digest and learned the same thing. The blood test cost 60 dollars and 70 cents. Readers digest go for 1.25 unless you can find one at the 2nd store. That price is a nickel.
It is a fact that some where between 70 years and 85 years most of us are going to die. I aways pray let it be fast and painless.

Patsy, I hear you about fast and painless. But I feel just a little differently than you do about the "fast". I want to know that my end is near enough in advance that I can say goodbye to everyone I care for and get my last minute affairs in order. Give me a month, I say, and I'll be satisfied. But I, like you, hope to die quietly and peacefully.
So all is well then. Huh?
Just got to watch what you eat by the sounds of it.
That's good news.
I think a lot of that lab work business is just a money maker for the doctors.
I kind of went through the same thing last month - I went in to get something for my hurting feet - had to pay my $20 co-pay for him to talk to me, said he wanted me to come in for physical - so I went back the next day - again $20 but this time he listened to my heart, looked at my ears and sent me to the lab for blood work - Cholesterol continues high - like all the Powell's - didn't get any medicine - just payed him money for nothing.
It's ridiculous what it costs just for a blood test! I always say you can't afford to be sick anymore...it's sad that the medication one must take costs hundreds of dollars. It should be free if it's going to save your life!!
