When we'd go visit my in-laws' farms, they would bring in fresh brown eggs that had just been hatched to cook for breakfast..the first time my son Corey saw the brown eggs, he was curious as to why they weren't white like he was used to! They told him it was because they were fresh eggs (he was too young to be explained why certain breeds lay brown eggs) and after that, every time he'd see brown eggs at the store he'd say "can we buy fresh eggs this time mom?" lol

I miss fresh farm eggs,
maybe by next year, we will have some!
