The sun is shining here Praise be to God. my chickens will be happy also. iI have read that if you have cochin chickens you need to keep them in side on wet days because they get balls of mud on their feet. I can't do that but I am going to catch them and cut the feathers off their feet when it drys up a little.
I think that they will not grow back until they molt. If they do I will cut them off again. I just can't lock them in the house all winter.
I guess when I do I will do some triming around the vents also so they can start to breed. Wish me luck and I hope I don't cut any thing off that is needed.

Wow, you have some awesome chickens. We use to have some on the farm. I wish we could raise some up here in the mountains but the mountains lions and bobcats would probably start hanging around. It is also way to cold. It was nice stopping by your blog! Have a great week!
God Bless!
I just love your chooks Patsy, my haven't they grown.
My bantams did get little balls of mud on their feet just once, but it washed off.
I trimmed their claws and feet feather, and the feathers re-grew again. I only trimmed them a bit though.
Great to seem them out in the sunshine
Lol I DO hope you don't cut off something you shouldn't!! hehe You certainly have quite an assortment of chickens and they must keep you quite busy!
Reading about your chickens reminds me of my friend's story about having a pet chicken as a child. That little chicken turned into a rooster, roamed the neighborhood, crowed loudly and woke the neighborhood each day, pecked at girls' painted toenails and sat on boys' heads.
Do you ever think any of your chickens could achieve such status?
