September 28 2006 Tyson Foods Inc. has agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle allegations that it discriminated against women and minorities in hiring, the Labor Department said Wednesday. The money will be sent to more than 2,500 people affected by the settlement, the department said.The allegations of hiring discrimination involved six facilities in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The allegations emerged during government compliance evaluations conducted from 2002 through 2004.
Tyson has been on a cost cutting roll for a while, now we know why.

The first stock I ever bought was Tyson stock - and it hasn't served me as well as I'd hoped. Now I'll have to watch and see what effect this news has on share price.
I wish I could quit eating chicken! I know they fill them birds up with all those hormones....probably feeds cancer in our bodies. Darn it sure tastes good!
