Gay marriage?

Another republican has decided he would like to be our fearless leader. Romeny has decided he will run for president and try to get a law on the books that says marriage is between a man and a woman.
I don't pretend to be very wise and I must say that I don't understand homosexuals. This is complete foreign to me but in a world where apparently homosexuals are everywhere if I am to believe what I read why should we spend our tax dollars on the subject of whether they can have a civil marriage?
What benefit would this be to a same sex couple who decided to join themselves in a civil marriage? As I understand if they did this company insurance would have to grant the non working spouse insurance just as they do for heterosexual couples that are married. Also they would get any tax breaks that might be affable to married heterosexual married couples.
I for one do not want to be on the side of THE IRS on any argument and Insurance companies are not my favorite companies.
The Iraq war is a far better moral issue as I think about our country and our government besides in a country where divorce is flourishing and many men and women decide to live together with out marriage why should I care if a homosexual couple wants to marry?
Let them marry I say and then the divorce lawyers will have many new cases.
Let them marry and then they can be as miserable as the heterosexual couples.
I think these president want to bees are just trying to muddy the water and avoid talking about what is really important.

I had to laugh about Romney's stand on gay marriage considering he's a member of a faith tradition that once espoused polygamy.

I agree with you Patsy that adults who wish to marry should be able to do so. They should be able love, honor and cherish another adult in a legal and economically protected partnership. The world will benefit from the stability and protection this would add to many relationships.

Like you, I think they should let homosexuals marry if they want, I have no problems with that! I don't think Romney will make too many fans with his stand because in today's world, homosexuality is pretty much part of life now!!
