Up and out early

I got out early to look after my chickens and ducks. They need feed in weather like this. It is 18 degrees and ice and snow covers the ground. I am upset about my ducks they will not go into the coop I made for them. I broke open my last bale of hay and spread some for them to walk on . I will have to go out again and take hot water to try and get some water where the chickens and ducks can have water. I heard geese flying over going east in the predawn this morning.
As soon as it gets a little better I am going to try and build the ducks some kind of shelter they will use. This is not acceptable for them to be out in the snow and rain.
I really don't like this kind of weather.

Good morning, Patsy. I am gratified to see the photos of the snow. We got flakes down here in Little Rock but there is no accumulation. It's brrrrr cold though, so I'm really feeling sorry for your ducks - and for you who will have to go out to care for them.

You are right, that little 4 year old loves to go to the park, with his grandmother or any willing human who will take him. He's a mover and a shaker, that one!

We're having quite a winter storm right now...started at 2 p.m. and still going strong at 7:20 p.m...both my boys cancelled coming in tonight as the roads are way too bad! Your poor duckies, what a shame they won't go in the shelter you already built for them!!
