The Rhode Island red chicks have settled right down and are doing fine. I killed one yesterday because it was on it's side and couldn't get up. If I had kept it , it could have made the others sick.I have 25 left and hope I can raise most of them.
last year the chicks I got from the hatchery were very flighty and not healthy but these are just great so far.
Daughter wanted to know if these would lay big eggs, she said she liked the big eggs better, I think it was because she could sell them and I let her keep the money.
I cleaned out the brooders this morning. I still have 90 chicks in the group that Clayton hatched.
