Improving my mind

In Google books I have found a diary written by a soldier in the civil war who fought in Arkansas and Mo. He talks about the Arkansas razor backs hogs and how good they were. If you are a civil war buff as I am this would be something for you to read sisters.
I had long thought that the wild hogs around Carrollton Ar. were descended from De Soto's march thro' Ar. and this fellow thought the same.
The fellow also told how the soldiers filled their shoes with soap for a long march and how good it felt when he did this.
You can click on "Improving my mind" and read this book.

How are you improving your mind.

Called Fleta and told her this is what I got from my visit:

1. Clayton informed me I am fat.
Yes, I knew it.
2. Fleta said I will never write a book. I hope I can prove her wrong.
3. Patsy said I was just like Momma and I know that is true.

Now, from Fleta and my conversation...I can tell you Patsy is just like our Daddy and that is why all his kids adore her above all. She loves us for who we are and does not allow our short falls to keep her from loving us. She knows us well, and loves us still! Just like Daddy. She is out questing for new knowledge today and she will find it. Also, Patsy is like Grandma Powell...dowagers hump on her back! Patsy, I got Grandma's bunions!

Have a good day dear Sis and thanks for the chickens!

Must add Adam Kinzer was in the Iowa Infantry. Mom said he was so young he just carried water to the soldiers, but Fleta and I discovered he was of full age, just a very small man so I suppose they thought he was too young to really tote a gun and fight!
