Word pictures.

Did you sing this song in Sunday school when you were a child? We did and I would picture a train on a rail going down the tracks.
How many of you have road a train? I road along with mother and Richard from cricket AR. to Kansas City mo. We were going to go to California and live near daddy while he was in the service but got turned back at K. C. because daddy was being shipped out.
Life is like a mountain railroad, with an engineer that’s brave;
We must make the run successful, from the cradle to the grave;
Watch the curves, the fills, the tunnels; never falter, never quail;
Keep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail.

Bless'd Savior, Thou wilt guide us,
Till we reach that blissful shore;
Where the angels wait to join us
In Thy praise forevermore.

Mostly in Church they pick songs that I don't know. I love the old ones and sing loudly when one of them have it's number called out.

About my favorite son is
"He hideth my soul" by Fanny Crosby. she was blind and she wrote the most beautiful songs.

Would you believe I've never been on a train? Well, I have been on an old steam engine Christmas train that went about 5 miles an hour for a little tour but I've never rode on a real train. As for the song, it's not familiar to me...being French, all the songs I learned in church or school were in French:-) Beautiful picture, Patsy! xox

When I was 5 my parents would put me on a train at one end of the state and I'd ride in the care of the stewardess all the way to my grandparents' house at the other end of the state. I felt so grown up and so proud to be traveling on my own. Imagine, only 5. My parents were either very confident in the train stewards or they were just glad to send me off for a while.
