christmas tree

This is my daughters Christmas tree, I don't have one. I am a very unholiday person. Christmas is for children and I am not a child.
The nurse said yesterday the tree would cheer me up, I said I don't need cheering up. I am cheerful all the time. She looked like she didn't believe me.
All Christmas traditions have their roots in pagan religion. This is not why I don't have a tree. I think as a christian I can do or not do as I please because Christ has set me free.
So if you have holiday tree , give gifts, Christmas lights it is fine as long as you realize that there is nothing about Christ in Christmas. Christmas is a commercial holiday created to put money into the pockets of business and many people are sad because they don't have the money to be part of the dream not realizing that it is a night mare.

Bravo Patsy! I feel exactly the same way about Christmas.

I beg to differ, Patsy. Christmas, to me, is a time to be with family and friends, to share good food and drink, to laugh and talk and tell stories and play games, to give gifts that one has made or has carefully chosen, gifts that are little indulgences for fun or comfort.

Sister, we sprang from the same root and think very similar about many things. I don't care about a tree. Christ was not born on Dec. 25...we all know that. He probably would not want a celebration of his birth, but of his death...as he talked about which was greater birth or death.

I got my oranges at walmart, too. all the christmas lights bother larry...he says...gas is $3.00 a gal. and no one even cares...jstu keeps paying. Lights everywhere with several big cars. Oh, well, as the world turns.

The tree does go back to Nimrod...but I will not go there. I say like you...have a tree if you want...don't if you don't want to. I really don't want to.

Now, Christmas and Siggie...Siggie wants a baby island. It is a baby bathtub, changing table, etc. Laura wants her to have something smaller that will not fill her room. Either by hell or high water, Sigie will have a baby island...Santa or Poppa is the choice, but she is 2 and says she is getting one...AND she will get that baby island..but a tree I could care less.
