My dear grandmother lived in this area all her life. In North West Ar. There were no blacks in her life.
I remember grandma telling me that one time she road on a train and she saw a black woman on the train.
The lady had a baby and she nursed the baby while she was on the train in sight of everyone. Grandma thought this was awful. She told me about this and was outraged. She attributed this to the fact that the lady was black and saw it as a racial fault.
The fact was that it was a culture thing and had nothing to do with her race.
We as people have a problem understanding people’s customs of a different culture or race. We fear and mistrust the things we are not accustomed to.
In my life in the work place I have had the opportunity to meet peoples of several different races and I have found they are just like my family. They love their family members and want the best for them. They get hungry, cold, and tired just like we do.
I would wish for a world and a society that does not hate, has no violence and where every One has shelter, food, clothing and security.
We need to have the love of God in our hearts and love our fellow man.
Come quickly Lord Jesus and bring about a perfect world where the lamb will lay down with the lion and not be dinner.

You have never been judgemental of anyone. I htink you enjoy learning about folks of different cultures. I do.
it would be a better world if all had the love you have in your heart...I really enjoyed reading this this morning...thank you
It's interesting to hear how people interpret difference. Some are fascinated with the foreign, the unknown and others are fearful of it. You, Patsy, don't appear to have much fear of anything and do appear to have great curiousity and interest in everything.
