William Buckley dies

William Buckley, with his winningly capricious personality, his use of ten-dollar words and a darting tongue writers loved to compare to an anteater’s, was the popular host of one of television’s longest-running programs, “Firing Line,” and founded and shepherded the influential conservative magazine “National Review has passed away.
I have had some comments on my blog posted by someone calling them self FREEDOM and he or she has more or less called me a bleeding heart liberial. I watched Buckley everytime he came on my TV and really enjoyed his program. he believed that less goverment was the best goverment and I agreed with him. As I read about his death I found reports that he did not agree with our Iraq war therefore I find my self on Buckleys side again. May he rest in peace.

Not only was he a conservative, but a southern one ...the worst kind. He was for segregation..oh, dear. I don't think I had much in common with his thinking.

Freedom probably has a lot of money and wants to keep it riding on the backs of the poor.

An Iraqi came to Florida and may have to go back home. He said I can't live off of 7.00 an hr. wage. (He was on NPR today)Lots of poor do that here.
And McDonalds has millions! I say ride Freedom home! Go home Freedom.
Don't want you at Sister's door. Go home Freedom and count your money. Sister lives poor and eats eggs from her own chickens!

If Freedom knew the toil Sister has given in her life, I hope he would shed a tear of shame.

Do I detect a little jealousy? How ignorant you must be to think being sucessful is riding on the backs of the poor. I guess you are one of those people who did not aspire to be sucessful so you look down your nose at those who did. How pitiful you are. Its people like you who should not be allowed to vote. After all its alot easer to ride the backs of the taxpayer than to do it yourself.

Sal, my sister has a college education , which she obtained by hard work. She is a school teacher in Ar. has been for 35 years. still working!in my archives I have a photo of her and gov. Huckabee when she won award for teach of the year.
We cannot judge a book by it's cover.
My sister has enought money in the bank to buy you and me.
She has a heart as big as all of Ar.
I really like to have people comment on my blog who have different opinions but don't misjudge my sister.

I commend your sister for her achevments in education. When I saw her statement about someone sucessful riding on the backs of the poor, well, I just had to respond. Wealth does not a person make. Success is not measured by wealth alone and I for one will not buy into that persona. I dare not misjudge someone I have never met but in this case I reacted to the statement as a reflection of the person who wrote it.
