next president?

Yesterday Obama spoke in Philadelphia Penn. trying to put to rest the rumors about the pastor of his church. Will he be successful? I don't know but I thought he gave a speech of enormous portions and I thought for the first time he might make a great president.
When Obama first began to campaign for the presidency he talked about his church membership because so many people were accusing him of being muslin now this church membership has come back to cause him trouble.
Reverend Wright has made some statement that many people have found distasteful but truth be told Pat Robertson and The late Jerry farewell has made some of the same statement in the past and no political leaders were called to account for their preachers statements.
I think it is dangerous to bring religion and polities together in the white house. Two presidents have done this, namely Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush. Need I say more?
The black people in this country have reasons to be bitter about their treatment by whites and they are bitter

If only he practiced what he preaches.

Its interesting that Obama demanded that Hillary Clinton in effect disown Geraldine Ferraro for her comments while being adamant that he cannot disown Wright for his. And just what did Ferraro say? Nothing more than that Obama wouldn't be where he is in this race right now if he weren't black. Now I might not agree with that statement, but it certainly isn't racist. There are undoubtedly hoards of people out there, both black and white, who might say the same thing.

Do you know why Barack Obama could not and will not "disown" Rev. Wright? Because the Trinity Church of Christ is one of the biggest in Chicago. I think that it is fair to say that Barack Obama's motivation to join this church was more rooted in his quest for political power than for communion with God.

Another point: Who was the first announced presidential candidate to call for Don Imus to be fired last year? Yup, you're right ... Barack Obama.

I have watched this on the news tonight - and listened to Obama's response to the criticisms and the tapes of the offending 'sermons' with great interest.

It's hard to imagine how long it is before you all get to vote!

I was so impressed also with Obama's speech. It was one that should be read and studied by everyone in America today.
