Birthday

I made 70 years. I went out this morning to feed and found one new black chick. I thought what am I going to do with one chick, maybe I should kill it then I realized put it into the pen with the little red hen and if she takes it OK. I put it in the pen and it was yelling at the top of it's lungs and mama hen started clucking and under her it went. 13 chicks now!
I think my sons are coming today to celebrate my birthday and when I get all 3 of them here I am going to have them move my chick pen Sammy and I made last year so the hatchery chicks will be on new ground.
All things considered I feel pretty good for a 70th year old woman this morning.
Our cousin Winnie Jo was here and we had such a good visit with her. We are the only family I know who have a good time at a funeral. Winnie lives at Gladstone Mo. and while she was sleeping under our protective tornado hill a Tornado tore thro' her town and got with in 2 blocks of her house!
Our home place is build right up against this hill protecting our home from all wind coming from the north and the west. This has been a source of comfort to us over the years while ever one else face the might wind coming from Oklahoma.
