chicken seller

you know I bought straight run chickens from the hatchery so I had two bunches of chicks to tend every day. My sons go to this auction and day old birds were going for 2 dollars each so my children said let us take those rooster and sell them.
I said no for a while because its not right to sell the chicks because people would assume they were getting straight run , which would be roosters and pullets, well I finally agreed to let my son do that even tho' I knew it was not right. I told my son that it was like you were lying to the buyers by not telling them they were roosters. which is lying by omission.

My sinful nature won out and I was telling my self it wasn't like I would know these people. Sammy took 37 chicks to the sale, 26 roosters and 11 bantams that had hatched this last week.
Then he called and said the chicks only brought a dollar a each which was OK because I had only 50 cent each in the hatchery roosters and the 11 bantams had paid for themselves long ago.
Then he told me one of the buyers wanted my phone no., he was interested in buying more chickens. Sammy said this man was really nice, he was in a wheel chair because he had suffered a stroke.
I told Sammy I don't want to talk to this fellow. Sammy said why and I said Sammy I sold him roosters and he thought he was buying straight run chicks. Sammy said he doesn't know that. I replied he will know when all 9 start crowing!
So you see I not only sold roosters for a dollar I sold them to a poor sick old man even tho' I knew it was not right to do so. My sinful nature is still with me.

After you have enjoyed your profits...ask forgiveness. Maybe
he will like the roosters!

Your story reminds me of myself any time I do something when I am telling myself..no, no!

Happy Mother's Day.
