I have this yellow rose bush and it has grown in my yard for 4 years. This year in the Midest of the yellow rose branches up shot these two branches and I noticed the leaves were different being green while the yellow rose has bronze colored leaves. imagine my surprise today when I saw the buds on the new branches start to open and they are RED not yellow.

What a nice surprise.
Was it a grafted rose? If so, it may be that the new branches are coming up from the root stock. What a nice thing to happen! Carmon
