Dog

Sister's dog kills snakes. Our dog isn't good for anything except to bark. I snapped this photo while she was sounding off.
She wont stay outside by her self but wants to go out side and chase cats several times each day so she barks and wont hush until she gets her way.
I only have 13 red chicks now yesterday I counted and counted and since the 16th I have lost another chick. The chicks can't get out of the brooder so I know someone is opening the lid and garbing one at a time. I have lost 5 hatchery chicks since I put them in the pen. They are not dead in the pen and can't get out. I am sure someone is coming and opening the pen and garbing one chick before they run to the back of the pen. Last night I got a lock and chain and locked the brooder maybe that will stop the chicken thieves.
I have locks on my runs and the house and now on the brooder. I had thought children were doing this but I wonder now if it could be an adult. This really puzzles me.

I bet your dog would let you know that someone was at your door.
I am sorry about you losing the chickens. I hope you solve the mystery. They are too large for a snake and most other varmits leave
feathers.

I wish you had one of those cameras you could set up. Some people are so mean.

The thief could be a large raccoon. A coon could haul off a pretty large bird.

Hope you catch whatever or whomever it is!

I love the dog picture! I hope you catch the thief. They used to kill chicken thieves years ago. I wish you had one of those cameras, too, and could catch them on tape. Then you could call the law on them!
