For 14 years we have had satellite cable at our house and over the years the price has gone up and up. We were paying 80 dollars a month for the privilege of watching this boop tube I have maintained for several years that we should cancel this program.
In febuary there are going to be some changes in the Tv broadcasting. We purchased a DTV Analog pass-through box and canceled our highway robber satellite Saturday.
I watched the cable news almost all the time and not much else.
These people in the photo died in my house Saturday and I don't miss the fools.
No more Kieth,Chris,Rachel or Fox new people in our living room.
We lived just fine without the screaming news people telling us how we should buy this, by that and think like they do.
The economy demands we cut back and we have!

Good for you! We got rid of TV altogether! I can get all the news I need from my computer, we're saving $134 a month and for entertainment -- when I need it, I have DVDs!
I have sure thought about it. I have cable for my computer though. There is absolutely NOTHING on TV anymore. It used to be so entertaining twenty years ago.
I am thinking of following you.
Ten years ago we moved to a new (old) house in January that didn't have cable hookups. We didn't have any TV at all for nine months. It was heavenly. I didn't miss it for a minute.
Then NFL football season started and Hubby couldn't stand it any longer. Now the boob tube is on all the time. Sigh. I miss the good old days of silence.
Good for you. I got rid of cable 2 years ago. We don't even have rabbit ears. I got high speed internet to read the news, and of course, mom calls me if anything important happens that she thinks I should know about. We watch the DVD's we have and borrow some from the library.
