dogs are smart

We have two dogs, we have had foxy in this photo 3 years in April, she was 2 months old when we got her and she had been mistreated.we have had the pug going on two months and he was a year old when we got him.
Pug is not allowed in the house unless he is in his coop and he has learned that he is not to come in until I say he can and then he must go in the coop. He also has learned to chase other dogs out of my yard because I don't want them in the yard. I think he know the word NO, other than this I can't say what else he knows.
Foxy on the other hand know several commands and can tell me when she wants to go out side, she stands on her back feet and dances and I say do you want to go out side? she will stop dancing and go to the door immediately.
since I am home all the time I have more time to study the behavior of the dogs. Foxy knows when I say get in the coop she goes and gets in her coop I have not tried to teach foxy these words but she knows what I am saying. I wonder some times just how much foxy understand of speech.
Foxy likes my son Sammy and knows when his car pulls in the yard and will let me know he is there before he has time to get out of the car. My other 2 sons are not very popular with her and she could care less when they come over.
The pug dog stays on the porch except when he makes his rounds in the yard and lets me know when someone is in the yard.
Foxy weights 9 pounds and I think half of her weight is brain and the other half is hair.
My sisters will think I have lost what mind I had but I tell you dogs no more than some people think. Cats on the other hand only know when food is coming.

I think the pug has been a good investment...he is the protector of
the chickens and his food.
