shriving

43 degrees this morning and I am shriving since propane is so I high I am resisting turning on the stove.
12 eggs in the hen house yesterday but only 3 brown eggs. I sold a dozen brown pullet eggs yesterday to a neighbor. Some people believe that brown eggs have more nutrition than white eggs. I don't believe this but if they want to be silly I will let them.
I saw on line that Palin believed that the people didn't elect the president, God did, I wonder what message she will think God sent her when the Republicans lose to Obama.
What a difference a day makes, yesterday the RNC said Palins cloths would be denoted to charity now today they are saying that she wont have to pay taxes on the
dresses. I guess she told them she was keeping her lout, you betcha.
There are some reports going around that McCain and Palin are not talking to each other, wonder why?

I am shivering, too, Patsy and I have the heat on. It is 42 degrees here so we are one degree colder! If the truth be known McCain is probably so sorry he picked her because I think she has really hurt him. Don't brown eggs have darker yokes? I like my eggs over easy and I love the dark yokes.

I guess I've become adjusted to Oregon's climate. It's 33 here this morning and I have on my summer robe and house shoes and no heat. Everybody freezes when they first move here.

Thanks Patsy for the gorgeous cosmos picture. It made my day. Lovely.

I watched Bryan Williams' interview with Palin and McCain. McCain loves his women to be quiet and submissive. It's obvious she grates on his nerves. It's clear she thinks she will be the power behind the old man. I'm sure he's embarrassed every time he has to defend picking her.

Anger seems to be driving him these days. That may be what it takes to get him to the finish line. Chuck Todd said it was obvious he and his staff are exhausted.

I wear a lot of fleece here in the Pacific Northwest. It's wonderful, soft, warm, and pretty good at repelling rain.

I wear fleece vests almost all the time, in the house and out. You might consider this as you're trying to conserve your propane. These vests are inexpensive, like $20 or so. Here I can buy them anywhere but they may not be as available where you are.

I also wear fleece jackets because they're light weight but really warm. I have crocheted and knitted afghans but prefer fleece throws. Sometimes I just go to the fabric store and buy some fleece by the yard for throws. It doesn't have to be hemmed, might look better with a blanket stitch around it but it works just fine without it. I also cut fleece into pieces for our pet beds.

Fleece is the fabric for this part of the world. At one time it was probably beaver skins but modern day fleece does the job a lot nicer.

We will try not to heat as long as we can. Electric is all we have an it is expensive. Wish I have a little propane to back up to.
