I have 5 chicks in the brooder with a hen and they will be big enough to move into the big pen soon then I will be done with the baby chicks until spring. I ordered propane Today. 200 gallon will cost me 471 dollars. it is going to be a long costly winter trying to stay warm.
I am sure obama will be our next president and I hope he will do a better job than Bush has done.
I have a supply of rice and beans laid in for winter and maybe what we have to survive on this winder along with macaroni and tomatoes.
We are fortunate that Tyson sells chicken at a reduced price to the employees and perhaps we will have chicken if Tyson can keep running.
I plan on buying plastic sheeting and closing off the back bed rooms and heating only the rooms we have to heat. I am going to cover the back door and try to cut some of the cold air from coming in.
I have been planning on how we can cut back our heating bill for several days now.
I hope we have a mild winter. I don't know how people in the colder northern states are going to survive.
I got a pullet egg again from the red pullets and they will all be laying soon. I eat bread and eggs for breakfast every day now since we have our own eggs. Ever corner that a person can cut on the food bill will be necessary. I can make our bread and do since a loaf of bread is going for 2 dollars in the store.
Corn bread is another bread for our table in the winter months.
gas at the station today was 3.50 cents a gallon Janet said. I told her not to get to happy because as soon as the election is pass gas will go back up.
