Defying U.S. Senate leaders and his own state's lawmakers, Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Tuesday appointed former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris a black man to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate He would be the only black in the senate.
The only thing the governor could have done that would been more in their face was appoint a black republican, if there is such a thing in Illinois. The lieutenant governor is screaming THE PEOPLE DON'T WANT THIS but they, powers that be refused to call a special election ,to fill the seat because oh my a Republican might win.
The fun is back in politics thanks to Blagojevick.
