bird photos

Fleta has a camera that can take pictures of birds but my camera isn't powerful enough for that kind of photos. I have a lot of birds in my yard because of all the corn I throw to the chickens but alas I can never get them in a picture except like this one. during the ice storm I tried several times but this little fellow was the only one I could snap and you have to look very close to see him.

I think I have lived pass the flu, the first day I was so sick to my stomach and then yesterday morning that passed but I had such pains in my gut I thought I would die but today so far I just feel my normal old self.

My brother Clayton has retired again, he went back to work for a year after his first retirement because of his need for insurance but now he has reached the magic age of 65 so he can get Medicare and so he has gone home again.

Fleta is the only one on the red dirt road who works now and I tell her you should retire when you reach 62 next year, maybe if Obama gets this health insurance bill passed she can joint the other rocking chair people and try to forget the Tyson place.

My chicken pen is very different now that I have culled the bantams. I have 12 chickens, 6 large hens and 6 bantams but come this spring I probably will have more if my health permits. I got 4 eggs yesterday and some days I get 8 if the sun is warm and the hens feel up to it. This is more than enough eggs for us.

Hi Patsy - I'm glad you're feeling better again! When I was a kid in Arkansas, we raised chickens for Tyson. Sort of the other end of a very dirty job. I remember when they would bring the new chicks it seemed like the chicken houses were enormous. Then six weeks later, there would be no room at all and the chickens could barely move until the trucks came for them. A long time ago and you always remind me of old memories! Carmon

The eggs I sat were all rotten. I am a rotten chicken hatcher.

Hi Patsy, I am so glad you are feeling much better and like your self again. It is warming up here in Kentucky and beginning to look a lot like spring. I complain about the winter and when spring comes I forget all about it because it is so beautiful here in the springtime.
