I put out my tomato plants this morning. Sammy bought me the top soil and I have 6 old tires filled and planted 3 early girls and 3 big boys. Sammy wants to grow cantaloupes in the 3 tires that are left. He can fill them. My brother sent me 5 old tires to go with the 4 I had.
I am able to grow all the tomatoes we will eat in the tires.
The only thing left to plant for me is my cucumber. I didn't think I would be able to grow a garden this year but with Sammy's help we are growing vegetables again.

You can grow a lot in a small space. I bought some hens and chickens (potted plant) like Granny Gaddy always had yesterday. I hope I can keep them alive. They don't need much water...I think I water them to death.
I always figure as long as I can raise a few tomatoes, that's enough. Anything else my knees allow me to do is a bonus.
