My neighbors are going to wake this morning with a vague feeling that something is wrong for the first time in years I don't have a rooster crowing in my chicken pen last week when I went in the chicken pen the rooster flogged me and hit me on my lower leg. I try to avoid any sores on my legs or feet because I know that old people have problems with sores on their legs. The wound has not been a problem but it is something that I try to avoid so when My son Kelly showed up for my birthday I sent the rooster home with him. I told Kelly that I was going to stand out side and watch the rooster flog him. Kelly said he wont bother me but sure enough he jumped at Kelly and hit him on the leg. Kelly had heavy jeans on but I bet he felt the blow! I would have butchered the rooster but I was too lazy. I wont have a rooster crowing for a while but the neighbor better not get used to the quite.
Kelly brought me a gift of another rooster but he wont crow since he is not living.

I love the sound of a rooster crowing in the morning.
Our rooster crowing in the mornings on the farm is one of my fondest memories of the place. Sorry you had to get rid of yours but you can't take any chances on it hurting you. I don't like one that flogs people.
I like a rooster crowing, but not a flogging one. I am glad he is gone. There will be another rooster..probably one in those chicks you hatched.
