I realized I had not done a mite prevention since early last spring so I went into the house and scattered seven dust on the ground, roost and nest for good measure I picked up some hens and looked for mites. I saw no sign of the vermin but I found that these pullets have very heavy uncoats of feathers. I guess that is why they seem not to be effected by the cold and rain.
