Dear Dan using the word Obama and watermelon in the same sentence rarely works out well!
Dan Rather has been a supported of the Democrats for years and less we forget CBS fired him because he released a story about George Bush being a draft dodgier but he should have known saying what he did about Obama not being able to sell watermelon beside the road was going to go over like a lead balloon.
Rather wrote an apology/explanation for his watermelon comment in the
Huffington Post. "I was talking about Obama and health care and I used the analogy of selling watermelons by the side of the road. It's an expression that stretches to my boyhood roots in Southeast Texas, when country highways were lined with stands manned by
sellers of all races. Now of course watermelons have become a stereotype for African Americans and so my analogy entered a charged environment. I'm sorry people took offense," He wrote.

he could of said 'fried chicken' or 'chitlens' ( I know that is not spelled right...maybe 'polk salad'
Helen it is Poke Sallet.
Dan says what he thinks i guess or does not think about what he says. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they get a health bill through. The ins. companies have sent ALL the lobbyist in. They said it was like the locusts in Exodus there but the locusts are insurance lobbyest...if the ins. companies are so against getting this bill through...that should tell the common person something.
