Sister wants to know if ramps grow here, I don't know but I am familiar with the name having read about it on this survivors site I read. I found a new blog while searching to see if ramps grow here. What I read is they taste just like onions and we have wild onions growing here but since I have a lot of the winter onions why bother with ramps?
I have wild onions that sprout in my yard in the spring and they are a good addition to wild greens but they are tuff when raw. When we mow the air is full of the onion smell due to the wild onions.

Those ramps look more tender than our wild onions...he calls them more like leeks and in the spring they eat them to clean the 'blood'.
I read about the ramps...and I think they may not grown here...or Granny would have spoke of them.
I do not need ramps because onions are one of the few things that I can get to grow...
