Sin

While reading the news on line I read the excuse that George Rekers, the Baptist preacher and anti-gay Evangelist gave for hiring a male prostitute I was reminded of Jimmy Swagger and his national disgrace over hiring a female prostitute, when ask about this Jimmy told the news media that the Lord told him it was none of their business.
I am inclined to agree with Jimmy about sexual matters being private and none of his congregation business except he found that if he wanted their money he had to answer to their questions and in the end he lost his following and their money. The love of money was his real sin I think.
I see Jimmy on TV once in awhile, he is old and gray not so handsome any longer. His son does most of the preaching now but he can't touch Jimmy's crying and begging. One person I never see anymore on the stage is Jimmy's wife. I guess she thinks the son isn't what his father was either.

I have a hard time abiding Jimmy or any of his ilk. They are using religion to line their own pockets. Most of those TV evangelists are simply "using" religion. Instead, we should be using religion to better the lives of others.

I did admire one. He never made a lot of money off his ministry. It was Billy Graham. He was the exception to the rule.
