Only one brown egg yesterday. It will be time for the red hens to molt soon and the brown eggs will be scarce. The good news was I got 4 blue/green eggs. Janet has people who want to buy the blue eggs only! The chuickens that laid the first time this spring will molt and loose a lot of feathers . production falls off then begines to pick up in January for another year. By the way they grow new feathers and have a nice warm coat for winter.
This is a nutural occurance that happens every fall. I wonder if the wild birds molt?
I am going to town when Janet gets up to take me.

I like the little bantie ones the best. I think the blue egg layers are banties too?!
