damaged by our former President

George W. Bush, the former president of the U.S., cancelled a trip to Switzerland for next weekend due to potential protest demonstrations by human rights groups over the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay as well as the threat of his arrest.
the Humans rights group has threatened to arrest President Bush if he appears in Switzerland in fact president has been threatened with arrest by several countries since his book was published saying he approved water boarding and torture while he was President.
Our former leader has done untold damage to our mind set about what is proper and correct in times of national threats in our country.
To make a point my son was watching this terrible movie just yesterday. The story line was this poor fool had planted 3 dirty bombs around New York and he was captured. The FBI and CIA had him in a room and was preforming unspeakable forms of torture on this poor soul trying to learn where the bombs were.
I was not watching but picking up some of the stuff because it was in the room. Then at some point the fellow failed to tell them what they wanted and my son shouted Torture him AGAIN! at that point I told my son this was not a movie to watch and to shut it down.
My point is that Bush has so ruined the public opinion as to what is right and wrong that the average person does not realize just how terrible we have become because of the acts of our former president.I read that after world war 2 our government put a Japanese soldier to death because he used water boarding as a form of torture on prisoners of war so we have fell so far since that I fear we can't recover.
As Christina Aguilera sang at the super bowl....What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming. instead of "What so proudly we hailed"

Yes, this is not the world I grew up in. We have lost so much...

Of course, I was not and am not Oriental during World war II or black before the 60's either. Their world was not so great. Japanese Americans, some fourth generation Americans, were interred during the II World War. Blacks were killed regularly in the south since Lincoln declared they were free...so is it all that better?
