Laverne Russell, age 86, of Green Forest, AR passed away July 22, 2011. She was born in Hamlin, TX on April 6, 1925, daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Newsom) Palmer.
She graduated from Roby High School and in 1950 she married Marvin Claude Russell. They moved to AR over 55 years ago and settled in Carroll County. Before her retirement Laverne was employed for 28 years as office manager at Tyson’s of Green Forest. She was a member of the VA Auxiliary. She loved to make quilts and give them to her family and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
