Sounds like hard work and I love hearing it. I can easily tell if a ear of sweet corn is ready. I can tell by feeling it and always could. Maybe I learned at home with Dad but I don't remember. Some folks can not tell what ears are ready, but to me the 'feel' makes it easy.

We are going to raise corn for the chickens next year, I think so I will be doing what you wrote about. Larry said what we would plant but I don't remember. he sold seed for 25 years and he knows all about garden seed.

Well these chickens Kris has beat all I have ever seen...Each one lays an egg every day...You would think with 7 chickens and 6 kids we would not have a surplus of eggs but we sure do...I will be ablle to make an angel food cake soon...But I'm not using that stupid pan I used last time...
