dogs

we had some excitement on the hill yesterday.Sammy went to a swap met near Harrison and I went to bed and fell asleep because I didn't sleep well the night before. when Sammy got home there two dogs that had been shot and were laying out in the calf pasture. Sammy called the neighbor who was also gone and told him about the dogs. One was the Spanish peoples female dog and the other was the neighbors black dog. These dogs chase our calves. The neighbor says the dogs just play with the calves. neighbors dog was shot in the hip and the female was gut shot. The neighbor's wife called the cops and he spent a hour  questions every body but me. Kelly came by and he did a lot of talking. What the cop said was if the dogs were on our land and bothering our stock we could shot them. I guess the neighbor told the cop they thought Sammy shot the dogs. He didn't and I didn't. Kelly told the cop look like the dogs were shot some where else and were trying to get home and couldn't go any further. the Mexicans came to get the female. they loaded her in the back of their pickup and took her home. the dog shot in the hip made it home under her own power.
To make a long story short  we have two wounded dogs and no one know who shot them , not I said cock robin ,nor  I  cried everyone else.

Now that's a real mystery. Nothing makes me angrier than people who let their dogs bother livestock. Our motto is shoot, shovel, and shut up.

Only one was not questioned...old lady who was home when dogs were shot but she was fast asleep. I don't like dogs that chase or bother other folks stuff. Keep em home or don't gripe about it...is what I think.
