Almost 25 years after first getting married Hollywood actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have discovered they are in fact related. 

The revelation was delivered to the couple during Finding Your Roots, the PBS show in which famous people get an insight into their family backgrounds.

Host Henry Louis Gates Jr, the Harvard professor of African-American history, revealed that DNA evidence shows Bacon, 54, and Sedwick, 47, to be ninth cousins once removed.
