Sisters

My father had 4 sisters, Thelma who was a nurse, Fleta and Winnie Ree and Betty Lou.
Fleta and Winnie went to Saint Louis to live after they finished school at the school of the Ozarks near Hollister MO.
Aunt Winnie married George Reed and Aunt Fleta married Harold Merk. Fleta and Harold had one child. Her name is Winnie Jo Fleta named her for her sister. I think Fleta and Winnie were very close all their lives.
This is a picture of Winnie Jo and Uncle George Reed. This is the way I remember her. She always had very nice cloths. My brother and I were rag-a -_muffins.
She taught school and raised a family but to me she is still the pretty little girl who came to grandpa and grandma house in her pretty little dresses.
Uncle Harold worked until he retired in a air craft factory, I think it might have been MacDonald Douglas but I am not sure.
Aunt Winnie worked at cutting and styling hair for a few years after she had her 2 boys I think she stopped working.
My aunts and their husband are all gone now but Winnie Jo is still living in MO. And aunt Winnie's son Skip lives in MO. Too.
sadly Aunt Winnie's son Jimmy died young of cancer.
Their lives have been very different than ours but we have the same blood flowing in our veins.
