We got that picture on the wall for Mom and Dad one Xmas. I think Clayton picked it out,but it was from all of us. Daddy really liked the picture. It was a covered bridge in the country. It hung on their wall for over 30 years I am sure.
In the late 1960s Daddy started working out for wages. he worked in a feed mill. Mr. Eldridge gave him a bonus at Xmas to help keep the business' taxes down. he could give money to the employees and take it off his tax. Daddy went to walmart with his check..down at harrison. he bought everyone something for Xmas. The bill should have been 116.dollars is the way I remember it and the girl asked Dad for 16 dollars. he tried and tried to tell her the bill was wrong. She finally got really hateful so he just paid the $16.00 and left with all the presents. He did not feel good about it though as I would if Walmart told me $16 instead of $116.
