Grandma never grew marigolds, for along time when I started trying to grow flowers I could not understand why she never grew marigolds., then I realized no one in our area did. All the women saved flower seeds and excanged them and no one had any marigolds at that time.

Those purple flowers along hiway 7 would be a good one for you...they are wild but beautiful like a daisy. Is that what this is...?
I will try to pick some of the ones I am talking about and send you the seed.
If you've noticed, marigolds don't have a very nice smell to them...maybe that's why nobody really grew them? This is the first year I planted some and every time I touch them, I hate the smell! lol
