In my yard
A red rooster, a black eyed Susan and a onion bloom is what I saw today in the yard.
I bought a quarter pound of turnip seed yesterday and on the 25 of July son is going to plan some turnips for fall. When I was young I could only eat turnips raw and daddy said only old people liked cooked turnips now I like cooked turnips.
I have a plan to grow a few here at the house, I will move my chickens out of their summer pen and back into the hen house and I am going to sew some turnips in that ground. I think I will get some radish seed and sew that with the turnip seed.

I notice an old wrinkled hand in one of the pictures. I like cooked turnips and so does Larry he planted a patch last year. I tried to give some away but could not get anyone to come a pull a mess. He planted mustard greens too and oh, they were good. If you like greens you are really old , they say and I do love greens and corn bread. Greens have to have bacon grease or they are not fit to eat...right?
